Greek Marinated Chicken 

This is a very tasty but simple chicken dish that you can either cook under a grill or on the BBQ. There are two ways to prepare it – either simply with aromatic Organic Oregano or with our very own Cretan Greek Seasoning for Chicken that’s got a bit more of a kick, with chilli and mustard as well as oregano.

COOK TIME: 20 minutes

Method:

1. In a bowl mix together the Greek yogurt, Minoan Taste Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, herbs (either Organic Oregano or Cretan Life Greek Seasoning for Chicken), salt and pepper. 

2. Separate the mixture into two bowls – one with two thirds of the mixture for the marinade, and the other for basting during cooking. 

3. Cut Place the chicken pieces in the marinating bowl and make sure they are well covered by the marinade. Put this in the fridge ideally overnight, but at least for a couple of hours to really get the flavour going.

4. If you are grilling the chicken, lightly oil the grate and set the temperature to medium high. If you are barbequing, then lightly oil the barbeque grill and ensure the coals are hot but not flaming. 

5. Grill the chicken for around 15-20 minutes, basting it throughout with the remaining marinade mixture and turning occasionally to ensure that both sides are a light brown and the juices run clear. 

6. Serve the chicken warm, either with Greek-style potatoes, a Greek Salad or rice and be sure to enjoy a delicious dollop of tzatziki on the side as well.
